John Evans – Executive Director, Janus Labs

Evans Jr., Executive Director of Janus Labs, is a practice management expert and conducts extensive consulting and training with top financial intermediaries worldwide. John is a keynote speaker and has authored books on client retention and client acquisition including  “The Book of WOW,” and “A Genuine Persuasion System.”

Prior to Janus, he was Director of Business Development for the state of Florida’s # 1 Registered Investment Advisory firm for 2007, according to Wealth Manager Magazine.

John regularly contributes to the Orlando Sentinel on business and politics.  Prior to the financial services industry, John was Special Assistant to former U.S. Senator Connie Mack.

John is a Certified Facilitator from the Human Performance Institute and holds an MBA from the University of Miami.  He resides in Winter Park, Florida, with his wife and 4 children.

 


Barbara Scherer – 5/3 Fifth Third Bank, Sr. VP, Regional Marketing Director (Florida)

barb-schererBarb Scherer is the Senior Vice President/Regional Marketing Director, Florida for Fifth Third Bank, a super-regional bank headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio. In her role, Barb serves on the bank’s regional executive leadership team and oversees marketing initiatives throughout the bank’s three affiliates in the state – Central and North Florida, Tampa Bay and South Florida. She is responsible for directing all marketing programs to drive Fifth Third Bank’s Florida strategic plan.

Prior to joining Fifth Third Bank, for several years, Barb was the President of the Orlando office of Engauge Marketing, LLC, a full-service, national brand advertising and digital agency headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. She was responsible for all agency operations, business development, account management, digital and media services, strategic planning and public relations for the Florida portfolio of accounts.

Barb started her career in New York City at SSC&B/Lintas (now Lowe+Partners) on the Diet Coke account. She also worked at a national PR firm on packaged goods and cosmetics accounts. In Florida, she has been in senior positions at national ad agencies, including the regional offices of: Earle Palmer Brown, Greenstone/Roberts and Cramer Krasselt. During this time she worked with such clients as The Florida Lottery, Disney’s Wide World of Sports, Sprint, Orlando Regional Healthcare, Tijuana Flats Restaurants, Middleton Lawn & Pest Control, Orlando Sentinel, SunSports, Rosen Hotels & Resorts, Sonny’s Bar-B-Q and Florida Citrus Sports (Champs Sports Bowl and Capital One Bowl).

A long-time member of the American Advertising Federation (AAF), Barb served as the president of the Orlando chapter in 1999-2000 and garnered both the President and Club of the year award from the 4th District AAF and National AAF. She moved up through all district offices to become Governor of the 4th district (25 chapters in Florida and Caribbean) for 2004-2005 and served on the National AAF Board of Directors. In 2010, she was tapped to serve as the National AAF Annual Conference Co-Chair, and now serves again on the AAF National Board of Directors.

Barb was awarded the AAF Silver Medal in 2005 for career and industry accomplishments. In 2010, Barb was named “Marketer of the Year” for individual leadership by the American Marketing Association’s Central Florida chapter, of which she is also a member. Barb served on the Florida Council Board of Directors for the 4A’s (American Association of Advertising Agencies) from 2009-2012. Most recently, she was elected onto the NARB (National Advertising Review Board), a function of the ASRC (Advertising Self Regulatory Council), the advertising industry’s self-regulatory review board of advertising claims.

Within the Central Florida community, Barb serves on the board of directors for Florida Citrus Sports, Orlando’s Downtown Arts District and the Urban Land Institute and is a member of the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association.

A native of New York City, Barb was raised in Naples, Florida and is a graduate of Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida. In her spare time, she enjoys attending live sports and entertainment events, playing golf, working out, or weekends at New Smyrna Beach.


Bill Duff, Vice President – Customer Operations

bill-duffBill joined CHEP in 1995 as an Account Representative in Mt. Laurel, NJ. Over a period of 16.5 years he was promoted into positions of increased responsibility contributing in the areas of Quality, Customer Service, Information Technology, Order Processing, Transaction Management and International Business. Bill’s passion and commitment to transforming the customer experience has earned him the responsibility of championing CHEP’s customer loyalty operational and strategic vision.

Over the past three years, Bill has lead the journey to re-design CHEP’s customer facing organization in order to develop and sustain stronger customer relationships, while fostering profitable growth. Responsibilities covered under Bill’s leadership include: Voice of the Customer, Customer On-Boarding, Customer Care, Customer Total Account Management, Customer Controls & Intelligence, and Supplier Diversity. All aspects of his organization are integrated and are committed to delivering an exceptional customer experience and winning value proposition for CHEP’s customers.

Bill is a trained and qualified Six Sigma Black Belt. He has sponsored and delivered numerous high impact Six Sigma projects to improve the total customer experience, satisfaction, and backend business processes. The projects have led to millions of dollars in savings and additional business.

Bill graduated from LaSalle University with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing. He currently resides in Central Florida with his wife Kylie and three children. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing and is a founding Director of a youth recreational baseball league for his community.


Jenn Lingerfelt – Director of Marketing

jenn-lingerfeltJennifer Lingerfelt oversees all aspects of corporate marketing and industry thought leadership for fast growing loyalty marketing pioneer, Kobie Marketing.  For nearly 15 years she has managed product development, research analysis, advertising, promotions, social networking strategy, competitive positioning, trend analysis, B2B marketing, and consumer targeting.

She is known for achieving double-digit profit gains representing over $15M in total revenue, winning multiple awards through: marketing campaigns, advertising sales, new product launches, new client acquisition, and implementation of new business models. Jennifer holds a Master of Science in Business from the University of Florida, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing Management from Old Dominion University.

Jim Siegel – Decipher, LLC

jim-siegelJim was with Ford Motor Company for 37 years ultimately ascending to a senior management position in charge of Worldwide Consumer Insight Strategy.  In this role he reported to the head of the Global Consumer Insights Office, the in-house worldwide market research arm of Ford Motor Company.  He was responsible for market research focusing on consumer attitudes, behaviors and needs, including owner loyalty, e-commerce, vehicle service, consumer attitudinal segmentation, brand portfolio management, cohort studies and demographic/social trends.  He managed Ford’s central worldwide repository of consumer information.
